Harlon L. Murphy

Harlon L. Murphy, affectionately called Harvey, began his eternal life with the Lord on May 8, 2022. Harlon was born in Culpepper, Virginia on February 4, 1947, to the late Andrew and Margaret Murphy. In October of 2018, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Francis Davis. One of 5 children, in 1954, he and his family moved to Washington, D.C., where he received his primary education. A self-trained auto mechanic, Harlon loved to restore and refurbish classic cars.
Harlon joined the United States Army in 1967, he did multiple deployments, he served in Korea, China, and in Vietnam from July, 1969 until July, 1970. He ended his military career stationed in Anchorage, Alaska from 1970 until 1973.
He is survived by his daughter Andrea Price of Loganville, Georgia, and son Christopher Murphy (Jessenia) of Lakeland, Florida. Sisters, Doris Wall (Chester) of Washington, D.C., Sandra Murphy of Washington, D.C.; brothers, Joseph Murphy (Pearl) of Capitol, Heights Maryland, and Andrew Murphy, (Melina) of Washington, DC. Grandchildren, Alexa Murphy, Gabriel Murphy, Naomi Lippitt, Jessandria LeVance, Meredith Murphy, Araceli Murphy, Malachi Murphy, great grandchild Luna LeVance and a host of nieces and nephews.
