Paul James Pickerill Jr “Jim” 78, of Lakeland passed away Tuesday June 22nd 2021.
Jim is survived by his beloved Daughter Jennifer O’Donnell. His son in law Robert O’Donnell and his two grandchildren Ronan O’Donnell and Zoey O’Donnell. And his three brothers Robert “Bobby” Pickerill, David “Randy” Pickerill and Donny Pickerill. And many loving nieces and nephews.
Jim was born in Orlando and spent most of his life there. He joined the Marines and served for several years before eventually returning and establishing a successful Trophy shop business in College Park. It is here where he met his wife and had his daughter. He made the move to Lakeland over 25 years ago and quickly found a community in his church, friends and business acquaintances. He founded All Out Pest Control 21 years ago and was honored to serve his customers throughout the years. He was an avid fisherman and could be seen just about every weekend on the golf course. He was also a beautiful poet whose book of poems was published in the early 1975.
Jim was an accomplished man but more importantly Jim was a selfless man who put the needs of others above his own. He lived his life faithfully to God and devoted his free time to helping others.
His greatest joy though was his family. He was a doting son to his mother Paula Pickerill. And a proud dad and grandpa. His daughter was his heart and he spent his life loving her.
His celebration of life service will be held Saturday July 3rd at 10am at Christ Memorial Baptist Church. Address 2929 Hardin Combee Rd, Lakeland 33801. Refreshments and conversations to follow in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers please consider making a small donation to OneMoreChild.org or Lighthouse Ministries. As these were causes dear to Jim.
