Tribute

- Rose E Kimmel, formerly of Wausau, WI, died peacefully on September 8, 2021 at The Estates at Carpenters in Lakeland, FL.
Rose Ella Zellmer was born on Dec 7, 1927. She was the fifth of six children born to Arthur and Stella (Cone) Zellmer. Rose was a graduate of Poynette High School in Poynette, WI, class of 1945. On March 25, 1950 she was united in marriage to Charles E Kimmel. Chuck preceded her in death in 2004. Rose and Chuck settled in Wausau, WI and enjoyed their beautiful home on the Rib River. Rose worked her way to the position of Personnel Officer with First American Bank in Wausau. They spent their years in Wausau square dancing with friends and taking cruises anywhere a boat would take them. They also loved trips to Las Vegas.
In 1979, Rose and Chuck retired and moved to Plum Lake in Sayner, WI. Missing both the customer contact and the work environment, Rose decided to return to her banking career and took the position of Vice President at First Wisconsin Bank in Minocqua, WI. Rose retired a second time in 1990 and moved with Chuck to Lakeland, FL where they enjoyed golfing and square dancing with their friends at Cypress Lakes Retirement Community. For several years, Rose volunteered at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center as an auxiliary member. Rose enjoyed attending shows and concerts at the Lakeland Civic Center with Lois and the gang, as well as playing bridge weekly with friends at Cypress Lakes.
Survivors include a brother-in-law, Jerome Pribbenow, a sister-in-law, Blanche Zellmer, and 11 nieces and nephews—Roger (Linda) Zellmer, Charlene (Mike) Winter, Joanne Allen, Ronald Zellmer, Richard (Cheryl) Zellmer, Paul (Abigail) Pribbenow, Mark (Mary) Pribbenow, Dawn (Dave) Lau, Dean (Kris Mickelson) Pribbenow, Beth (John) Miller, and Brad (Melissa) Pribbenow. Rose is further survived by a stepdaughter, Sharron Swann.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses, Floyd (Gladys), Arnold (Helen), Evelyn (Bill), Fred, and Elsie, niece, Sandra Zellmer, and nephews Randy Zellmer and David Allen.
Her family extends special thanks to the staff at The Carpenter, especially to Unit Manager, T.K., for her extra special kindness and care of Rose.
We will never forget your sense of humor and infectious laugh. Rest in peace, Aunt Rose.
