Steven R. Colgate

Steven Rudolph Colgate of Lakeland, Florida passed on to glory September 10, 2021. Steve is survived by his sister Shirley Jordan of Ocala Florida, his wife of almost 62 years Rosemary Colgate; his sons Steven J. Colgate and Howard D. Colgate both of Lakeland Florida. His Daughter Linda D. Hill and her husband John Hill of Colorado Springs Colorado, His son Jimmy D. Colgate and his wife Christina of New Port Richey Florida. Steve is also survived by his grandchildren Jason MacDonald and his wife Katie of Colorado Springs Colorado. Ryan, Noah, Levi, Rachel, and Sydney Colgate of New Port Richey Florida. Amanda and Dallas Colgate of Cave City Kentucky. Steven also has 4 great Grandsons, 1 great Granddaughter and 1 great-great Grandson.

Steve was a jokester and had a great sense of humor. He was always cracking jokes to make everyone laugh. He was a long time supporter of Jonathan Bernis ministries and Christian's united for Israel. He was a member of the Jerusalem prayer team and the Zion Award. Steven was a devoted servant to the Lord and loyal member of Together Church in Lakeland Florida. Steve worked for Ford motor company for approximately 15 years before retiring in 1978 and moving to Florida where he started his Street Sweeping company Lakeland Power Sweep. Steve retired for the last time when he sold his business in 2019. He enjoyed playing card games with family and going to the gym with his wife, as well as going to church on Sundays. He was a loving father and husband and a fun loving Grandpa to all of his grandchildren. He will be missed by many, but his laugh we will all carry with us forever.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10 am, followed by a celebration of life at 11 am, at Together Church on Friday, September 17, 2021.
