WILLIAM G. VALENTINE

Wm. Glen Valentine, age 76, of Lakeland, Florida (formerly of Hernando, MS) departed this life on January 24, 2023. Glen was born on November 25, 1946 in Portsmouth, VA to Marion and Inez Valentine. He is predeceased by his parents and brother Gary Valentine.

Glen graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Portsmouth, VA in 1965. Following graduation he enlisted in the Navy in January 1966. His military career took him to Naval Station Great Lakes and Meridian NAS where he served the remainder of his four-year tour.

He began his airline career with Southern Airways in Meridian, MS on April 15, 1971. During his career he was based in Meridian, MS, St. Louis, MO, Gulfport, MS and Memphis, TN where he retired from Northwest Airlines in December 2005.

Glen was an avid golfer until he discovered pickleball which became his #1 sport. He loved people and never met a stranger. It was only fitting that Glen was a greeter at Longview Heights Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS where he was a member.

He is survived by his loving wife Virginia (Ginger), his children Craig (Leigh) Valentine and Justin (Tiffanie) Valentine, Scott (Tiffany) Mills, Melanie Mills and Angela Jamison and sisters Shirley (Robert) Sondej, Brenda (David) Smith and Linda (Mike) Wood, 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
